Effective Use of Relative Permerability & SCAL Data

DESKRIPSI
The use of analytical methods to predict natural reservoir performances is based on simplifications that enable reservoir engineers to apply simple models to describe complex geological structures.
SCAL enables us to allocate chosen relative-permeability and capillary-pressure curves to appropriate blocks in the simulation grid automatically by applying user-defined criteria. The three-dimensional visualization capability provides a quick and effective way of checking the data allocations. Additionally, SCAL has extensive support for end-point scaling.
Special core analysis, SCAL, data are among the most critical reservoir input data for reservoir simulation models. SCAL data has a direct impact on the way fluids are allocated and distributed in the reservoir simulation models, which would directly impact reservoirs’ STOIIP estimation and their distribution. Moreover, it directly affects the performance of secondary and EOR flooding processes, and in turn impacts the accuracy of the oil and gas reserve estimates, and the management of these reserves.
MATERI KURSUS
• The Concept of Relative Permeability
• Numerical Simulation : Relative Permeability Curves, Flow Rates, Heat Losses.
• Analysis & Interpretation of Results
• The pore-space
• Viscosity of the fluids
• Wettability of the mineral surface
• The concepts of the different elements of SCAL data, including reservoir wettability capillary pressure, two and three phase relative permeability and reservoir electrical properties
• The way these data would possibly change as a function of the reservoir heterogeneity and wettability
• Effect of reservoir saturation history and associated hysteresis of SCAL data
• Best practice of laboratory measurements of SCAL data as well as the interpretation of the experimental data considering the associated uncertainties
• Proper preparation and utilisation of SCAL data for reservoir characterisation and modelling, considering reservoir rock typing scheme and its wettability profile if any
• Possible integration of SCAL data with log and well testing data
• Case Study
